These are the first photos of the new Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels concept car that was revealed just a few hours before its public debut at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas later today.
The life-size concept model is inspired by the iconic “Custom Camaro” Spectraflame 1:64-scale toy that was part of the original 16 Hot Wheels car series released in 1968.
The Camaro Hot Wheels is the result of the joint collaboration between the GM Design studio in Michigan and the Hot Wheels Design studio in California.
The most eye-catching feature of the car is of course the unique, chrome-style metallic-green finish offset by matte black racing stripes and aero parts. The concept model also features 20-inch satin black wheels with red accents, a black aluminum hood insert with vent extractors, while power is provided by a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 matched to a six-speed manual gearbox.
And while there are no current plans to produce the life-size concept model, Hot Wheels will offer a collector’s edition 1:64-scale toy version over at its collectors webpage.
